Let’s get ready for a weekend
A Little Something for the Weekend
Another school week is in the books! Whether it flew by or felt like it dragged on forever, you made it — and that's worth a small exhale.
As the weekend rolls in, there's no pressure to make it perfect. A little rest, a little fun, and a little less rushing around is more than enough.
Something to do together
Try This: Mystery Box Game Night 🎁
Grab a box or pillowcase and hide a handful of small household objects inside — a spoon, a sock, a toy car, a cotton ball. Take turns reaching in (no peeking!) and guessing what each object is just by touch. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins bragging rights. It's silly, low-prep, and always ends in laughter.
One Small Organization Win
Sunday Night Prep: The Label Check 🏷️
Before the week kicks off, take five minutes to check that jackets, water bottles, and lunchboxes still have legible name labels. Faded Sharpie and peeling stickers are a big reason lost-and-found bins fill up so fast. A quick touch-up now saves a headache later.
Game to play together
Game Night Idea: Dixit 🎨
This dreamy, artful card game is perfect for imaginative kids and adults alike — players describe a card using a word, phrase, or sound, and everyone else tries to guess which card matches. No reading required, so it works well for a wide age range.
What they’re saying
What They're Saying: "Bet" 🗣️
If your kid responds to a plan with just "bet," they're not placing a wager — they mean "okay" or "I'm in." As in: "Movie night?" "Bet." It's their easygoing way of agreeing to just about anything.
Trivia for the family
Weekend Trivia 🧠
Younger kids: What do you call a baby sheep?
Older kids: What is the longest bone in the human body?

Things worth knowing
Fun Facts to Share ✨
Science: Elephants are the only animals in the world that can't jump — their leg structure just isn't built for it.
Language Arts: The word "bookworm" originally described actual insects that liked to burrow into and eat old books, long before it meant a person who loves reading.
That's It for This Week 💛
Every family's weekend looks different, and that's exactly how it should be. Maybe yours is packed with plans, or maybe it's wide open with nothing on the calendar — both count.
A hard week and a smooth week both mean the same thing in the end: you showed up, and so did your kids. That's the whole job, really.
Hope this weekend leaves room for nothing in particular.
Trivia Answers:
A baby sheep is called a lamb. Lambs can stand and walk within minutes of being born — pretty impressive for a newborn!
The longest bone in the human body is the femur (thigh bone). In adults, it can make up about a quarter of a person's total height.
